Topic: My roommate

When I came to USA at first time, I lived in Kulhavi Tower which is one of dorms in CMU. I had 4 roommates at that time. 2 people were Americans and 1 person was Korean. However, we couldn’t conneted with each other frequently because each room is isolated and we could share only livingroom. After half of one semeter, my Koran frined was gone to Korea and one American was gone to other place. Therefore, it remained only one American girl and me in the dorm at that time, but we couldn’t see each other becuase she didn’t go outside; she always was in her room. Hence, we couldn’t become intimate, and I had to move to other dorm in fall semester because I couldn’t be there on vacation. I moved SAXE hall which is one of dorms in CMU. I had four roommates. In this dorm, we had to live with one person, that is, two people had to use one room. So, four people use one living room and each two people use one room. Four people were American in our room except by me. I was happy becuase it is a chance for learning English. We got along well until now. however, Oneday my roommate said she will move to another dorm. when I heard that, I was sad. at that time, my roommate said you don’t have to worry because we had to connect with each other. however, I was sad. however, I’m happy now because I could use the big room alone after she moved other place my friends always came to my room  without rein. One another good thing is that I can meet my roommate once every week because we eat luch together in cafeteria. I can use the big room comfortable and I can keep in touch with my roommate. Therefore, I’m so happy now. I think it is jsut catching two pigeons with one bean.

I am happy to hear that you are getting well with your roommates.
I was so eager to live in a dorm when I was in high school. But I could not. Because my home is only 5 minutes away from the school. I felt so sadly at that time. Finally, I had the chance, which was the day I was admitted by a university. I had 7 roommates at that time, and I really had a good time with them for 3 years. We still keep in touch now. And I miss them so much. I think you have the feeling, don’t you? :)

I was also thankful to have roommates when I was a freshman in college. It is especially important for you to have American roommates because that is a great way to really understand American culture. (By the way, the English idiom is “catch two birds with one stone.”)
