Topic : Homesick
While I was in the airplane, I was excited about all thing. When I came to CMU at first, I felt all thing’s novelty. however, as time goes by, I missed my friends who live in my hometown and my parents. I had a form resolution that I will think, speak, listen, and see only as English. However, one day, I really wanted to watch the television program of Korea and talk to Korean, and it got weakened in my resolution. I think all students who study on aboard will undergo homesick. Before I came to USA, I thought I could live in other country permanently. however, I think it will be difficult to me in other country permanently because I felt I can’t live apart to my friends and parents. I think people who live in foreign country seems like a great people because they have endured homesick until now. I think it is a good experience in my life.

Jin, you are right. Homesick is common for everyone who leave their country at the first time. I have the same feeling as you. I miss my friends, my grandparents and my parents. On the other word, it is the good chance to be independent, isn’t it? And you can make more new friends, learn other culture besides your country, right? So don’t worry, keep working on it, and everything is going well on the way to you.

I still have homesickness after living in Michigan for more than 10 years! Carol’s suggestion will be very useful: making new friends and learning new culture. After you adapt to the new enviorment more, your homesickness won’t be as frequent.
